The storied journey of Rio Tinto diamonds originates in a remote wilderness in Western Australia, and beneath the frozen, windswept lakes of Canada’s Northwest Territories—the Argyle and Diavik mines.
The Argyle Diamond Mine produces an array of natural colored diamonds that range from the dramatic pinks to the more subtle greys, golden and brown hues, while the Diavik Mine supplies rough that yields larger, higher quality polished diamonds.
Rio Tinto has created a unique mine-to-market Chain of Custody system that painstakingly tracks the path of its diamonds throughout the entire supply chain. External auditors monitor our partners to ensure the rigorous controls are maintained as the diamonds make their way through the pipeline.
